Five islands, one French archipelago

Guadeloupe, the French Caribbean archipelago

Guadeloupe is the French archipelago of the Caribbean: five inhabited islands, more than thirty islets, from the Soufrière volcano at 1467 meters to the white sand beaches of Grande-Terre. Biodiversity is protected by a National Park, one of the world's most acclaimed marine reserves, and three appellation d'origine contrôlée rum distilleries.

Five islands with distinct characters

Guadeloupe is not a single island, but an archipelago. Grande-Terre boasts beaches and lagoons, Basse-Terre boasts rainforests and volcanoes, Marie-Galante celebrates rum, and Les Saintes and La Désirade are lesser-known. All can be reached in 30 minutes by boat or regional flight.

The Cousteau Reserve, one of the best diving spots in the Caribbean

Off the coast of Bouillante, the îlets Pigeon are home to a marine reserve classified as a National Park, cited by Jacques-Yves Cousteau as one of the five most beautiful diving spots in the world. Two hundred species of fish, preserved coral and sea turtles, accessible to both experienced divers and snorkeling families.

A real rum route, with an AOC to match

Guadeloupe is the only destination in the French Caribbean with eight working distilleries, including three exceptional ones on Marie-Galante (Bellevue, Bielle, Père Labat). AOC Guadeloupe agricultural rum is a recognized terroir, comparable to cognac or champagne in terms of its specifications.
